There is a series of emails going around at the moment that appear to be from genuine companies telling the receiver that they have either just made a payment or that they need to make a payment and attached to the email is a word document claiming to be an invoice or a payment confirmation.

iTunes Account Deleted Scam Warning

A scam email pretending to be from Apple iTunes is doing the rounds with the title:

“Account Deleted due to TOS Violations”

The email states in it’s opening line:

“This message confirms that your Apple Account was deleted due to a violation of our Terms of Service that was left unresolved.”

British Telecom Fake Email Virus Alert

Below is a copy of an email that we have received several times today claiming to be from BT but which in fact contains a zip file with a virus attachment.

The fake email is signed by Libby Barr, Managing Director, Consumer Sales and Service and has the title “BT Third Attempt failed.”

If you receive an email like this it is best to just delete it and do not open the attachment with the email.
