PayPal Scam Email Warning

A new scam email, claiming to be from PayPal, has been making the rounds today.

A copy of the text from the email is below. This is a ‘phishing’ email, which attempts to get you to click on a link to go to a fake PayPal site, where you then input your log in details and at that point the scammers behind the fake email then have your PayPal log in details.

If you receive any emails which you are suspicious about you should forward them to spoof@paypal.com

Copy of text from fake email as follows:

Dear PayPal Customer,

You have an incoming payment from a member of Craiglist slated for your account regarding your item.

This transaction cannot be completed due to errors present in your account information. You are required to click on the LOGON below to fix this problem immediately.

Log On (link removed for security)

Please do not reply to this message. For questions, please call Customer Service.
